About
Travelling has always been a hobby of mine. My parents introduced me to holidays in the UK, and when I was under 10, Cornwall was a favourite. The desire to get in the car and go back there as soon as we returned home was always strong. As I got older, the European road trip became a 'thing' with regular trips down to the south of France or the Costa Brava in Spain. Plenty of sun each and every time and a stronger desire to get back in the car the following year.
It wasn't until I was 15 that I got on a plane for a trip to Canada to see my uncle, who was based in Vancouver, and that really did ignite the travelling bug. The Rocky Mountains, the Icefields Parkway, Lake Louise, Banff and of course, Vancouver itself, regularly considered to be one of the best cities in the world to live in.
Two summers in a Florida marine camp doing kitchen work during university summer holidays were followed by two end-to-end trips through the USA. Work then got in the way temporarily, before funding even more travelling. Getting married to a Singaporean necessitated regular travel to the Far East to see her parents, opening up exotic destinations like Bali.
I know I have been lucky enough to see quite a bit of the world, but nowhere near all of it. Changing careers to a life in travel as a Travel Director was probably inevitable, so I could try and see more of the world and help others see it too.
As a father, I've tried to share my love of travelling with my daughter so she now has the bug too, and with my new partner having worked in Dubai for 15 years for international airlines, there are even more reasons to see more of the world. As if you really need a reason......
This site contains some ideas and perhaps inspiration for a trip. Some of the places mentioned here I will have been to, a lot I will have not. As a travel director, I can now help you travel to places that you may not have thought about, and turn that inspiration into reality.
All my contact details can be found on this site and if you are interested in booking with me, then please note that I am supported by The Travel Directors and all bookings are handled through that organisation with the appropriate ABTA backing (ABTA P7109).
